Color Bowl Creation Tips
One of the best types of planting that I have always loved, ever since I was a child was planting a container full of flowers. I loved planting a bunch of different types of flowers and waiting for them all to bloom. This type of planting is also known as a color bowl.
When it comes to a color bowl, the first step is deciding on what you wish for it. Do you want it to be a bright burst of color from just one flower, or (are you like me) and wish for various colors and flowers? Both options are fine for a color bowl and neither is better than the other.
Once you have decided what you would like to do for the color bowl, it is time to plan out how you will plant the flowers in the bowl. This is especially important for those who pick a variety of different flowers for their color bowl. When planting, you will want the tallest planted in either the back of the container or towards the middle of the container. From there, you will want to work your way forward by height ending with the shortest flowers in the front. By planting them this way, you will ensure that all your flowers can be seen and you add a bit of interest by varying the height.
Once you have planned out your color bowl, you can prep the container and get the soil ready for planting. If you are reusing soil that has something planted in it before, you will want remove the dead parts of the old plant. Once the soil is ready you can plant according to your design.
